Through its Giving Back Programme, Green Roof is currently partnering with VietSeeds Foundation (“VietSeeds”), a non-profit organization committed to bringing EQUAL ACCESS to college education for ALL students in Vietnam. Vietseeds is committed to supporting students to BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY within their own families to change their lives, serving their communities, providing a new generation of ACTIVE CITIZENS and FUTURE LEADERS from diverse backgrounds, and fostering positive social changes.
Through VietSeeds, Green Roof is sponsoring 32 students (10 male and 22 female) to study at university. Most of the students are studying in subjects in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The programme will involve sponsoring a total of 32 students over the period of 5 years, from 2022 to 2027. The sponsorship programme includes training and mentorship for the students. In addition, the students will support local community development projects in their villages.
The potential impact of this programme is expected to include:
1. Break the cycle of poverty within the family
- An increase in annual income by the graduates.
2. Increase talent in the renewable energy sector
- An increase in the number of male and female Green Roof scholarship graduates working in the renewable energy, environmental and health and safety sector.
3. Pay it forward
- Students supporting local community development projects in their village.
- Other students recruited via the programme.
