On August 8, 2025, CN Green Roof Asia proudly joined the inauguration of the Organic Fertilizer Production Facility of the Balsic Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (BARBA), a dedicated farmers’ group in Barangay Balsic, Hermosa, Bataan. This milestone event marks a significant step in our shared mission to support sustainable agriculture and community development in Bataan.

Recently, in partnership with our shareholders - Climate Fund Managers and the Norwegian Development Fund - and with support from the European Union, CN Green Roof Asia provided two Solar-Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) to the farmers of BARBA. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to fostering sustainable economic activity in the communities where Green Roof Asia will soon operate its solar power plant, helping meet Bataan’s energy needs through clean and renewable sources.

The newly inaugurated facility is more than just a production facility for affordable and eco-friendly alternatives to costly chemical fertilizers. BARBA is set to partner with the Balsic to transform segregated household biodegradable waste into organic fertilizer - returning value to the land while reducing waste. The celebration also included the blessing of their valuable agricultural equipment, particularly two Composting Facilities that will further enhance BARBA’s organic fertilizer production and sustainability initiatives. This innovation marks a significant step towards sustainable agriculture for farmers in Hermosa and neighboring areas.

The event was not only about looking forward to it but also about honoring BARBA’s inspiring journey. From humble beginnings in October 2021 with just 18 members and an initial capital of ₱3,000, the association has grown to 83 members (50 men and 33 women) with projected assets now reaching ₱18 million.  Thanks to the hard work of its members and the support of government organizations.

BARBA’s success story stands as proof that with perseverance, partnership, and purpose, communities can transform challenges into lasting progress.

For CN Green Roof Asia, this event was more than a celebration - it was an opportunity to strengthen partnerships, share our renewable energy and agricultural initiatives, and showcase our commitment to sustainable, community-based projects. Together with BARBA, we continue to champion green practices and harness renewable resources for a more sustainable future in Bataan.

The inauguration was attended by key officials and stakeholders, including: Councilor Luz Samaniego representative from the Mayor’s office ; Congressman Atty. Tony Roman, 1st District of Hermosa; National Director Bernadette San Juan, NOAP Coordinator; OPA Eng. Johanna R. Dizon and the Provincial Agriculturist Office of Bataan; Hermosa Municipal Agriculturist Vincent Mangulabnan; Dr. Maria Luisa Cortez Tabing of CLSU; and Captain Amado “Bida” Roncal with the Barangay Council of Balsic.
