OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE PERFORMANCE ENGINEER - INDONESIA

I. COMPANY OVERVIEW

CNGRA (Company) is an investor/developer funded by Climate Fund Managers (CFM) and Norfund. We intend to develop solar projects across Indonesia to contribute to a better environment for Indonesia.

 

II. POSITION SCOPE

O&M Performance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of the company’s renewable energy assets—primarily solar PV systems. This position focuses on daily monitoring, data analysis, technical troubleshooting, and performance improvement, working closely with internal Project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to uphold asset performance standards.

 

III. JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  1. Portfolio Performance Monitoring & Control
  • Monitor daily performance of the solar portfolio using centralized platforms (e.g., Fusion Solar, iSolarCloud).
  • Remotely control or adjust the inverter power as per instructions from PLN or Load Dispatch Center.
  • Analyze system losses, identify root causes, and propose remedial actions to enhance performance.
  • Lead resolution of technical issues affecting performance, coordinating with internal and external teams.

 

  1. Operations & Maintenance Oversight
  • Supervise day-to-day O&M activities, ensuring contractors deliver timely and quality service.
  • Set up and manage preventive maintenance plans and corresponding budgets.
  • Maintain spare part inventory and manage the warehouse efficiently.
  • Coordinate equipment onboarding, service contracts, and warranty claims.
  • Review contracts, service quotes, and expedite payments to service providers and contractors.
  • Build or integrate monitoring platforms to centralize asset oversight.

 

  1. Asset Management & Financial Control
  • Oversee operations of solar rooftop assets in Indonesia and potential SEA markets.
  • Collaborate with the O&M team for analytics and operational improvements.
  • Drive asset performance optimization through cost-benefit and efficiency analysis (e.g., panel cleaning frequency).
  • Manage and control the Asset Management budget, track financial performance, and support cash flow planning.
  • Ensure customer billing accuracy in coordination with finance teams.

 

  1. Project Development Support
  • Support review of basic design and construction drawings.
  • Participate in site inspections during the construction phase.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new assets into the company’s asset management system.

 

  1. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
  • Ensure operations meet regulatory requirements, including HSE, fire safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and compliance reports on time.
  • Stay updated with solar-related regulations and industry standards.

 

  1. Stakeholder & Partner Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, local authorities, financiers, and developers.
  • Provide timely updates on portfolio performance to internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage monitoring system access for external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all third-party obligations are met, including warranties, performance guarantees, and minimum energy consumption.

 

  1. Strategic Growth & Process Improvement
  • Support expansion of O&M and AM operations into new markets (portfolio onboarding, local team recruitment, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Head of PMO and technical advisors to develop and improve O&M/AM best practices.
  • Prepare and present asset management reports during Monthly Business Reviews, including recommendations for performance and cost improvements.
  • Carry out other duties as needed to support the team and company objectives.

 

IV. POSITION HOLDER REQUIREMENT

 

Formal Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Engineering or related field, focusing on electrical or renewable energy engineering.

 

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Have experience in O&M activities for C&I rooftop solar project portfolio. 3 – 4 years will be considered as an advantage.
  • Have a good background in solar system design, installation, and operation; factors that impact the operation performance.
  • Well understanding of the solar best practice in rooftop solar O&M works
  • Have good knowledge and experience utilizing PVsyst, solar monitoring platforms, data logger, and the communication between the data logger and monitoring platform
  • Extensive knowledge of output, performance, and reliability factors of various commercially available modules, and inverters.
  • Knowledge of System Security and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will be considered an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of solar industry standards, design, and installation codes, with a preference for a candidate having knowledge of relevant requirements
  • Sound understanding of standard commercial arrangements (operation & maintenance contracts) used in rooftop solar
  • Understanding of industry best practice health, safety, social, and environmental (HSSE) standards is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels of an organization and project site
  • Enjoy and be effective at developing and nurturing client relationships at the appropriate level

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively resolve operational issues.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and willingness to travel.
  • Good in English, with good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong Office skills and experience in reporting by Power BI is a plus.
  • Having experience of Project Management is a plus
